10 questions for Vicky Lash - Q&A part 1
Beautymates and Vicky Lash, a match made in heaven. We have been working closely with renowned beauty expert and influencer Vicky Lash since 2020.
In this post, Vicky answers some of the most frequently asked questions about our new products and gives valuable tips on how you can make your skincare routine even more effective.
Q1: The smell is kind of strange. Can you explain why?
It's because all the boosters smell exactly as they are. There are no fragrances or perfumes in them. The fact that there are no fragrances means that even people with very sensitive skin can use the products. If the new Glycolic Night Booster has a certain smell, it is because the active ingredients are not masked by perfume or fragrances. The ingredient simply smells the way it is. I'm really pleased about that, because I think perfume and fragrances have no place in skincare products. It's okay if a lipstick or a blush has a fragrance, but anything that stays on the skin and is supposed to work should be fragrance-free.
Q2: Is the new Hyaluronic Boost cream suitable for day and night?
Correct. But so were the earlier Beautymates creams. You can mix them with the boosters, which are these little bottles here. The boosters contain highly concentrated active ingredients and each bottle has a special function. The new Hyaluronic Boost cream also contains shea butter, which makes it very nourishing, but it is generally suitable for all skin types. You have now made it a little more minimalist and only have one cream in the range.
Q3: Vicky, how are the new boosters now? What's different? What has changed? What has improved?
With a relaunch, the brand always makes sure to go the extra mile, and we've definitely seen that with the Eyelifting Booster. Not only does it contain some great extracts such as ash bark extract and silk tree extract, which help to reduce dark circles and bags under the eyes and lift the eyes, but the consistency has also changed. Silicone has been replaced by a very nice red algae extract, which has a similar smoothing effect but is more plant-based. Beautymates pays attention to clean beauty and tries to keep the brand as pure as possible. If you look at the ingredients, you will see that they are highly concentrated and highly effective.
When do you notice the first results?
Immediately with the Eyelifting Booster. The decongestant effect is immediate. You will notice the long-term effect against wrinkles and bags under the eyes after about four weeks. These results have been proven by studies.
Q4: What happened to the Retinol Booster?
This was combined with the Peptide Lifting Booster. Retinol is one of the top anti-ageing ingredients. The concentration has been slightly reduced due to EU regulations. Instead, an extract was added that was previously contained in the Peptide Lifting Booster. The new Lifting Booster is the successor. 0.3% retinol is still highly concentrated and in combination with ceramides and lifting peptides it is an extremely effective anti-ageing booster. You should always apply this booster in the evening.
Q5: Can I combine the booster with other creams?
You can, but you should make sure that this cream is also Clean Beauty. My recommendation: It is best to use the Hyaluronic Boost Cream from Beautymates.
Q6: Can I combine several serums?
Please do not use all serums together. You should not combine the Lifting Booster with vitamin C. This means that if you use the Lifting Booster in the evening, do not use the Glow Booster until the next morning. You should also not apply the Lifting Booster together with the Glycolic Night Booster.
Q7: Is there a successor to the Pore Minimizer?
Yes, this is now the Glow Booster. The niacinamides make the pores fine.
Q8: Is there no longer an AHA peeling?
Yes, this is now the Glycolic Night Booster. It is intended for people who want a beautiful, even complexion and are prone to impurities.
Q9: Did you discover the differences when testing Beautymates?
The Anti Pimple Booster and the Wake Up Booster are now the Clear Skin Booster.
Q10: What is the difference between Lifting and Glycolic Night Booster?
These are two completely different boosters. Glycolic Night is a fruit acid peeling that removes the top layer of dead skin. Salicylic acid also cleanses the pores. The Lifting Booster, especially with millet extract, smoothes the skin surface, stimulates collagen production and thus ensures fewer wrinkles.
